WA beers voted best in the world

West Australia might be famous for its premium wines but it also has some of

the best beers in the world.

A WA brewery has stolen the show for the third consecutive year at the International Beer Awards.

The Swan Valley’s Feral Brewing Company won five trophies, including the 2009 Champion Exhibitor and Champion Small Brewery.

Adding to the swag of WA medals was Matso’s Broome Brewery, which took out five bronze.

Join an outback rally
For the first time outback and motoring enthusiasts can follow The Australasian Safari - Australia’s version of ‘Paris to Dakar’ - on a fully guided tour.

This lets you share the exhilaration of a fast-paced, international motoring event from a fan’s ultimate vantage point.

The event, which runs from 1-8 August, sees competitors traverse 5,000 km of outback roads and tracks in an off-road rally through dramatic landscape.

The tour follows the safari through the rough and rugged terrain of Western Australia’s unspoilt outback; it tones down to a more relaxed pace before the overnight safari camp each evening.

While the adventure starts and ends in Perth, the precise route of the race is kept a secret until the night before each leg of the race.

Packages range from 3-day to 12 day tours, including pre-race trips in the Perth countryside.

Prices start at $2,200 and include serviced tent accommodation, all meals and a guide.

You can also hire 4WD vehicles or motorbikes.
